How to Proceed

In the event of a claim, it is essential to remain calm and respect all parties involved. Good cooperation between all will bear fruit, as well as the completion of the friendly declaration.

At Famasegur, we advise you to first of all remain calm and cordial in an emergency situation resulting from a claim.


Only with objectivity and a spirit of resolution of the claim can you manage to deal, quickly, the circumstances and proceed to the participation of the claim.

CAR ACCIDENT

  • Wear your reflective vest and flag the accident site;
  • Verify the existence of injuries and, if so, call immediately 112 (the police authority must be requested to intervene for the preparation of the report);
  • Obtain the identification data of other stakeholders, the existence of insurance and policy number;
  • Identify the witnesses (if any);
  • Seek the agreement and completion of the European Accident report Form for Motor Vehicles. The delivery of this document by insurance companies may trigger the system of direct compensation to the insured, speeding up the settlement of claims in case of bodily or material damage not exceeding €15,000;
  • In the event of impossibility to agree, in case of material or bodily harm, immediately request the presence of police authorities without removing the vehicles from the accident site;
  • The claim must be delivered to Famasegur as soon as possible, without exceeding eight days after the occurrence of the claim;
  • In case of one of the vehicles is circulating without valid insurance, a claim must be submitted to the Automobile Guarantee Fund.
